RECORDER REPORT

LAHORE: Pakistan Industrial and Traders Associations Front (PIAF) termed ongoing operation "Raddul Fasaad" against terrorists and subversive elements in the country as important step, saying the new operation along with deployment of rangers in Punjab would strengthen the successes achieved through operation Zarb-e-Azb.

PIAF chairman Irfan Iqbal Sheikh in a statement on Saturday said the business community is standing with the armed forces and there should be no mercy against those associated with terrorism and serious crimes as both our religion and laws of the land envisage no leniency for such elements. The terrorists want to destroy the country, its business and economic outlook but the businessmen, government and security forces are united and committed to tackle these conspiracies, he said.

He said that business community would continue playing its role for the success of all kinds of military as well as Rangers' operations, expressing the hope that police and administration would stand shoulder to shoulder with the rangers, which have full support of the public for war against terrorism.

He said that present deteriorating law and order situation is hurting the whole business atmosphere and nobody would be ready to put money in any new venture if the situation remains the same. Trade officers' role is very much important in this scenario, he added. They must build the positive image and always extend support and liaise with the foreign and national delegations coming in and going out for the promotion of Pakistani products by inviting the foreigners to attend fairs and exhibitions held from time to time in Pakistan, he maintained.

Calling launch of operation Raddul Fasaad as reflection of a complete harmony between political and military leadership, he said that it would effectively tackle challenges the country confronted in the form of terrorism. He also expressed satisfaction over success of security forces in action against anti-state elements near Loralai under Operation 'Raddul Fasaad' and appreciated their performance. Now there will be no shelter for terrorists and they would be chased everywhere and their hideouts and safe heavens would be targeted, he added.
