RECORDER REPORT

PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) dissident MPA and erstwhile provincial minister for Minerals Development, Ziaullah Afridi has demanded of PTI Chairman Imran Khan to expel KP Assembly Speaker from party unless he is exonerated by court from the allegations of corruption.

Speaking at a press conference at Peshawar Press Club on Sunday the MPA said he was also expelled from the party on basis of allegations despite the fact that his case was still under trial and not convicted by any court of law. “I have been victimized by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ehtesab Commission on behest of Chief Minister Pervez Khattak and the Speaker Asad Qaiser otherwise nothing has been proved against me,” the former minister said.

He said it was ironic that National Accountability Bureau was taking notice of corruption cases but the KP Ehtesab Commission was silent to take action against the corrupt elements. About alleged corrupt practices of the speaker, he said scores of people had been recruited in addition to deputing a low grade official of PIA Waqar Shah on a special secretary seat in the assembly in violation of rules.

Accompanied by scores of PTI workers, the MPA said that the stories about the speakers land properties, appointments had enough substance for Imran Khan to sack him otherwise no one would accept PTI chief’s tall claim about merit, justice policies.

The Ehtesab commission, he alleged did not need in the province in presence of other anti-corruption departments but it was set up by the chief minister to victimize whoever he wanted.

“A number of people have written letters to the KP Ehtesab commission against the speaker but no action has so far been taken which proved that the commission has no role to control corruption in the province.
