ISLAMABAD: Adviser to the Prime Minister on Accountability Shahzad Akbar on Saturday said that London High Court had not yet ruled in favor of the opposition leader, Shehbaz Sharif.

Addressing a media conference, he said the Daily Mail case would now proceed towards the trial phase and names of Shehbaz Sharif and his other family members would also come forth.

He added that the case would be tried and international news outlet, Daily Mail would submit evidence.

“The case will backfire as the Lahore High Court (LHC) rejected Shehbaz Sharif’s bail in the money laundering case, and a charge-sheet of Rs7 billion has been filed in the LHC. I challenge Shehbaz Sharif to move London’s court against me and I will submit evidence against him there.”

He said those who plundered the wealth of the country would surely be held accountable. We will get back the rights of the general public from the plunderers, he added. He said the government was committed to the welfare of the people and all resources would be utilised for that purpose.

He further said that the PML-N member Marriyum Aurangzeb speaks so many “lies” that it takes time to answer them. Akbar’s response came as Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb claimed on Saturday that the media trial of opposition leader Shehbaz Sharif was discussed in the Prime Minister’s House.
