RECORDER REPORT

LAHORE: Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Punjab Qamar Zaman Kaira announced on Monday to hold a protest at Minar-e-Pakistan with hand fans against loadshedding on May 04.

He was addressing a press conference at the PPP Punjab office along with senior leadership of Punjab chapter.

“We will hold a meeting of district office-bearers at the Minar-e-Pakistan on May 04, carrying hand fans to remind the chief minister that the province was passing through severe loadshedding,” he added.

He criticised the Chief Minister Punjab for making false claims on meeting energy shortage in record time besides controlling inflation in the country. On the contrary, he said, the country was experiencing 16 hours a day loadshedding today.

He claimed that there was no loadshedding of such a long duration during the PPP government. “This long duration of load shedding was rampant during the caretaker set up,” he added.

He said the country was passing through a severe crisis of electricity, inflation and unemployment. He further pointed out that there was no enough irrigation water for crops. He said the idea of Danish school proved a failure and millions of children are out of school across the province.

On Panama case, he criticised Imran Khan for taking the issue to the Supreme Court, saying that the PPP had been advising him to avoid approaching the court of law.

However, he added, that the apex court has already expressed concerns over the capacity of institutions assigned with the task of investigating the prime minister.

He also criticised the PML-N for abusing the opponents through press conferences, adding the PPP would not tolerate it any further. He urged the prime minister to control his ministers. He also demanded resignation from the prime minister before joining the investigation.
