KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Education and Literacy Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar has said that a huge amount is being allocated for education sector in the coming budget

“Comprehensive policies will be adopted in the year 2017-18,” he said, adding that Sindh education department was trying hard to increase enrolment in public sector schools.

The minister further said that due to hectic efforts of the department, more than 2000 closed schools have been reopened and educational activities have also been started in these schools.

He assured that Sindh education department was making efforts to provide missing facilities in schools such as supply of potable drinking water, washrooms and boundary walls.

He said that for this purpose Rs 1.5 billion had been allocated and most probably the task would be accomplished before end of current fiscal year.

Dahar was sure that keen interest of Sindh chief minister in bringing better changes in education department would bear fruits and people would realize these positive changes soon.

While taking notice of using Bhoja Surka Primary School in a village of district Tharparkar for personal use, he directed the concerned Education Officer to immediately submit a report in this regard that how a government school is being used for personal purposes.

He asked the relevant officer to visit the school, personally.

The minister alerted that strict action would be taken against illegal occupants. He ordered resumption of educational activities in the school without any delay.
