RECORDER REPORT

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians (PPPP) Senator Saeed Ghani has claimed that the Prime Minister would influence Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to be formed to implement Panama Papers case verdict, as has been done in the case of Dawn Leaks.

The PPP leader expressed these views while addressing a news conference on Wednesday. "If the Prime Minster can influence the investigation of Dawn Leaks in which he is not directly involved then what will be his influence on investigation of JIT in which he is directly involved," he said.

He said that the Prime Minster made some people as scapegoat to protect his cronies in the case of Dawn Leaks. "The JIT could not investigate independently due to the influence of the Prime Minister," he claimed. He said that the PPPP has rejected the JIT and the Supreme Court should constitute a commission under its supervision to investigate the case of Panama Papers. The officers of grade-20 or above will not prepare report against the Prime Minster.

He said that the PPPP has already demanded the resignation of the Prime Minster for independent investigation into the case. The PPPP leader said that the Prime Minister should resign as he is damaging the name of the country at international level.
