KARACHI: Zubair Tufail President Federation Pakistan Chamber of Commerce (FPCCI) has urged the federal government for special incentives for the women entrepreneurs.

While, addressing the launching ceremony of Women National Business Agenda (WNBA) project on Tuesday at Federation House, he said that women entrepreneur can largely contribute in the economic development of the country, but there is need to support them. He urged the government for easy loan scheme for the women entrepreneur. “Although there are sufficient fund available with banks for SME sector, however Women entrepreneurs cannot provide two guarantors, therefore there is need to ease the loan conditions for them”, he added.

Zubair said that women entrepreneurs have a wide vision of trade and business and can contribute in development of the country.

He informed that FPCCI with collaboration of Center for International Private Enterprises (CIPE) has initiated Women National Business Agenda (WNBA) project to make collective efforts to highlight the issues of women entrepreneurs.

Masoma Sibtain Vice president FPCCI said that several initiatives were taken for the promotion of women entrepreneurship; however there is hardly any policy intervention by Business Association. Therefore, this is for the first time FPCCI in collaboration with CIPE-a US chamber affiliated organization for creating collective voice of women chambers.

The purpose of the project is to present comprehensive document of policy reforms or recommendations to the political leadership advocating focus on developing policies for women entrepreneurship development, besides reducing barriers for business ventures.

Women entrepreneurs from Islamabad and Lahore also participated in the meeting via video link and presented their feedback on entrepreneurship development for policy reforms to create enabling environment for business women and aspiring entrepreneurs in the country.
