PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Engr Iqbal Zafar Jhagra has said that the role and sacrifices rendered by the tribal people in development, progress and stability of the country is a visible part of our national history.

“Our brethren from FATA left their homes in the best national interests and ensuring security of the country and the entire nation will always remember their sacrifices with great pride and honour.

He was addressing the elders of the Mehsud tribe during his one visit to South Waziristan Agency on Thursday. Senator Maulana Saleh Shah Qureshi, GOC 9 Division, Maj Gen Nauman Zakriya, Additional Chief Secretary FATA Fida Wazir, Political Agent Zafar ul Islam and other concerned officials were present on the occasion.

While referring to the reconstruction and rehabilitation process, the Governor said, the government had launched multi-purpose development packages which are being implemented at the cost of billion of rupees. “Projects meant for provision of potable water, rehabilitation of agriculture sector and health and educational activities are the important part of all such packages and no effort is being spared to fully implement them.
