PESHAWAR: The workers of Progressive Democratic Alliance (PDA), an amalgam of three political parties staged demo against the lynching of Mashal Khan and provision of justice to his family.

The workers of the component political parties including National Party (NP), Mazdoor Kissan Party (MKP) and Awami Workers Party (AWP) and some representatives of civil society gathered near Peshawar Press Club (PPC) and staged a demo here Saturday.

Addressing the protestors, Syed Mukhtiar Bacha, Shakeel Waheedullah Khan, Yousaf Anwar, Shahab Khattak Advocate and others termed the lynching of Mashal Khan tantamount to killing of mankind.

They regretted that the killers of the slain students had not been apprehended, saying that those justifying murdering of Mashal were also accomplice in the crime.

He alleged that the provincial government is not serious in handling the matter.

They said that all the political parties supported military courts, should also demand taking Mashal’s case to military courts.

They further said that the issue of sectarianism was deliberately created and spread to fit Muslims against each other, which they attributed to a big threat to integrity of the country. They threatened the government to establish a hunger strike camp outside provincial assembly and after consulting legal experts. For this purpose, they said they are consulting legal experts.

The protestors were also carrying banners inscribed with slogans ‘justice for Mashal Khan’ and were also chanting in this regard.
