LAHORE: Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) Director General, Dr Rizwan Naseer has asked all the District Emergency Officers (DEOs) to ensure full preparedness and remain ready for management of any possible flood ahead.

Dr Rizwan was chairing a meeting convened here on Monday to review flood preparedness in Punjab. He asked all the DEOs to organize flood mock exercises in their respective districts & send progress reports of testing and repair & maintenance of emergency equipment for flood rescue to the Headquarters.

The meeting was attended by all District Emergency Officers, Provincial Monitoring Officer, Deputy Director (PMER) Faheem Qureshi, DD (HQrs) Dr. Muhammad Azam, DD (Finance) Ejaz Virk, Deputy Director (Ops) Ayaz Aslam and Head of Law & Administration Wing Ali Hassan & others.

Dr Rizwan Naseer warned all officers and officials of the Service to ensure physical fitness by reducing weight at optimum level by 30 June, afterwards, a strict action will be initiated against the obese rescuers.

He said, “We are rescuers & we should look like rescuers”, adding we have to handle critical patients politely with good behavior. DG Rescue Punjab directed the DEOs to maintain discipline of the staff especially their uniform and proper turnout gear during emergency operations.

He said that Repair & Maintenance is one of the vulnerable areas, therefore, all DEOs are directed to ensure a complete case along-with history or summary sheet of the emergency vehicle to the Headquarters.
