KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) on Friday dismissed plea to verify Dr Asim Hussain’s documents from foreign ministry.

During the hearing, the judge remarked that Dr Asim was no more in the custody of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and had been released on bail therefore; he could go wherever he wanted.

On the other hand, SHC has reserved verdict on Dr Asim’s plea against Exit Control List (ECL) case after the arguments of Advocate Latif Khosa.

Earlier, federal government refused to remove Dr Asim’s name from ECL. He has filed an application in the court for exclusion of his name. The advocates of former Petroleum Minister Dr Asim held the stance that their client has serious health issues. They argued that facilities for his treatment are not available in Pakistan, hence he should be allowed to travel abroad. A report by a board of nine doctors was also submitted in the court.—NNI
