ISLAMABAD: The government has earmarked Rs 200 million for two new projects of Foreign Affairs Division (FAD) in the federal budget 2017-18, presented in the National Assembly on Friday.

According to the budget document, the Foreign Affairs Division will execute two new projects in the financial year 2017-18 under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP).

Under the PSDP, Rs 100 million have been allocated for construction of a state guest house and conference centre in the federal capital, while Rs 100 million have also been earmarked for consultancy services for the construction of the above projects.

The state guest house, the first in Islamabad, will be constructed along Margalla Road to accommodate the visiting heads of state and government and other foreign dignitaries. At present, the foreign dignitaries and guests are accommodated at a five-star hotel in the federal capital.
