RAWALPINDI: Punjab government has decided to install Water ATM machines across the province including Rawalpindi district. People would be provided free of cost purified water through ATM machines.

The water ATM machines would be installed in collaboration of Information Technology University and University of Colorado, America in Lahore, Rawalpindi and other major cities across Punjab.

The project would cost about $ 374,599 and the project would be monitored by American National Academy of Sciences and HEC Pakistan.

Water ATM Machine would be controlled through electronic System and quality and standard of water would be also checked through it. The fault of the machines would also be traced through online monitoring system In order to ensure provision of clean drinking water, the Punjab government has allocated Rs 25 billion in the budget for 2017-18.—INP
