RECORDER REPORT

ISLAMABAD: Senator Nehal Hashmi of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz has requested the apex court to withdraw show cause notice, which the Supreme Court had served on him over his threatening remarks against judiciary and joint investigation team (JIT) interrogating Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his sons Hussain Nawaz and Hussain Nawaz in the Panama Papers case.

Hashmi urged the Supreme Court for directives of criminal proceedings against the actual culprits “who distorted and doctored some pieces of his speech and transmitted the same on social and electronic media as well as misguided the Honorable Court which resulted the abovementioned show cause notice.”

Through his reply, Hashmi said he rejects all allegations, saying he didn’t commit any act of contempt but made speech once, but the media played it several times.
