KARACHI: Sindh Chief Secretary Rizwan Memon has called for civil services reforms to bring positive changes in the performance of civil servants and will also be helpful in good governance.

“Sindh Government is endeavoring to ensure promoting the service structure in collaboration with the Ministry of Planning, Development and Reforms, for betterment of the service delivery system, in the larger national interest,” he said, addressing a one – day workshop organized by Ministry of P&D and Reforms and Services, General Administration & Coordination Department (SGA&CD), Sindh.

Federal Secretary P.D. & R Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui said that Service reforms are essential for promotion and development of the system hence Federal and Provincial Governments are jointly streamlining this task.

The recommendations put forward during the group discussions regarding service structure, cadre system, ACR (Annual Confidential Report), training, refresher courses, monitoring and evaluation, service posting tenure and performance management were also finalized. MPA Mehtab Akbar Rashidi, Prof. Dr. Mazhar ul Haq Siddiqui, Dr. Fateh Muhammad Burfat, DIG Sindh Police Aftab Pathan, Member SPSC Ghulam Shabbir Shah, Provincial Secretaries Mohsin Ali Shah, Raziuddin Qureshi, Riazuddin Soomro, Zulfiqar Ali Shallwani, Sajid Jamal Abro, Abdul Haleem Shaikh, Qazi Shahid Pervez and Member P.D. & Reforms Suhail Safdar and journalist G.M. Jamali also spoke.
