RAWALPINDI/ MUZAFFARABAD: Four Pakistani soldiers drowned on Sunday after Indian troops targeted their vehicle along the Line of Control (LoC) and it fell into Neelum River in Athmaqam.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the body of one of the soldiers had been found while the search for the others was still under way by the time this report was filed.

The Pakistan Army duly responded to the brazen violation of the ceasefire with retaliatory firing, the ISPR added.

On July 10, five Pakistani civilians, including four women, were martyred after Indian troops resorted to unprovoked firing Rawalakot sector, Satwal, Manwal, Tatrinote areas. The incident also left four others, including three girls, injured.

In response, Pakistan Army destroyed two Indian checkposts leaving four enemy troops dead.—INP
