Why don’t you name the ‘conspirators’?

It is good to note that Pakistan People’s Party has asked the PML-N government to identify real or perceived ‘conspirators behind the latter’s woes’. Qamar Zaman Khaira, former information minister and Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians (PPPP) leader has said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif should disclose who is ‘conspiring’ against him; otherwise, he should step down immediately. According to him, the party does not see any conspiracy against the Prime Minister.

It is, therefore, quite agonising for one to observe that the federal government ministers have been repeatedly terming the Panama Papers ‘a foreign-sponsored’ conspiracy but they are not willing to go beyond their rhetoric and identify the conspirators.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Khawaja Saad Rafique and Minister for Railways, for example, has also termed the Panama Papers a “foreign-sponsored conspiracy” to target a nuclear Pakistan. I am, a citizen of Pakistan, of firm opinion that the PML-N government has nothing to substantiate its wild allegation.
