PESHAWAR: Tribal elders of Orakzai Agency have demanded of the federal government to resume door-to-door survey for the collection of details of the damages caused by militancy to their houses.

Speaking on the occasion at a tribal ‘Jirga’ held at the Agency Headquarters jirga hall, Malak Ajab Khan, Malak Gul Haider and other tribal elders said that a large number of damaged houses in Upper and Lower Orakzai Agency remained uncounted from the door-to-door survey. They claimed that owners of these damaged houses did not receive compensation amount to reconstruct their houses destroyed during military operation against militants.

Tribal elders alleged although in official documents, the displaced families of the Ali Khel tribe in Upper Orakzai had repatriated and rehabilitated, however, in reality their houses are completely destroyed. They complained that there are neither hospitals nor schools for the repatriated families of Ali Khel tribe. They said that the Ali Khel tribe people are still living as displaced persons in Hangu and Kohat area.

The jirga participants demanded of the government to immediately clear the area for the repatriation of the displaced families. They also demanded reconstruction of hospitals, schools and markets to rehabilitate the displaced families in their native areas.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Army has granted Army Public School status to the Government High School Doggar in Central Kurram Agency. As per details, General Commandant Major General Hassan Azghar Hayat during his visit Central Kurram Agency granted Army Public School status to the government-run Doggar High School. On the occasion, he promised to start construction work on school as soon as possible.
