PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Iqbla Zafar Jhagra has said that the economy of our beloved country Pakistan is progressing on the right track wherein the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor project, he added, is supposed to usher a big change not only in our case but also to promoting trade internationally.

This he stated while addressing a function under the aegis of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry at Islamabad on Monday. A large number of businessmen and traders were present on the occasion.

Highlighting the importance of trade and industrialization towards strengthening of national economy, the Governor especially mentioned the ongoing efforts for mainstreaming of FATA in this respect.

As a result of special measures taken during the recent past, he remarked, the Mohmand Marble city project is at the completion stage while three more industrial estates of similar nature; one each in FR Kohat, along Miran Shah road and in South Waziristan Agency will also be ready for industrialization in near future. “We are also providing 49,000 inland scholarships to talented students of FATA annually,” the Governor said.

He further said that both Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA were highly rich, as far as natural resources are concerned. There also exists a lot of potential for development of agriculture and tourism sectors and to happen this possible, besides the Kurram Tangi Dam, construction of small dams was also underway in FATA.

Earlier Khalid Iqbal Malik, President of the chamber while presenting the address of welcome thanked the Governor for gracing the occasion by his presence.
