LAHORE: The traffic police have imposed a complete ban on travel of heavy vehicles on motorway and GT Road from August 9-11 ahead of Nawaz Sharif’s rally towards his hometown.

The DIG Traffic Punjab has directed DPOs and CTOs of Sheikhupura, Gujarat, Jhelum, Lahore, Gujranwala and Rawalpindi for arranging alternative routes for general traffic, ambulances and firefighters in their respective regions.

The DIG also directed them to create awareness among the people through different mediums of communication so the people could avoid traffic problems.

The traffic authorities have requested the potential commuters for using their help lines as they have devised a special traffic diversion plan for Nawaz’s rally.
