RECORDER REPORT

LAHORE: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) claimed on Thursday to have made a major headway in case of bomb blast in a truck at Outfall Road in Lahore on 7th of August.

The officials said the initial investigations revealed that the truck was being used by two separate ‘owners’ which created curiosity among the investigators. The CTD officials said one number plate of the truck was registered in the name of Amanat Ali who is the ‘actual owner’, whereas the same truck was also registered in the name of Saif-ur-Rehman.

As per the fake documents, the CTD officials said the truck was owned and registered by Mehboob Alam, a resident of Okara in 1994. They also found his CNIC number fake. In September 2016, they said, Mehboob had lodged a complaint with Shahdrah police station against disappearance of his truck’s documents. Subsequently, on November 18, 2016, the truck was allegedly transferred to Saif-ur-Rehman, who is a resident of Nowshera.

The CTD officials said the truck used in the blast was in the ownership of Saif-ur-Rehman who is under interrogation.
