ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC) and Nestle Pakistan Limited Lahore signed an MoU for Research and Technology Transfer. The PARC will provide the technical support for development of demonstration site at its research centre NARC.

Nestle Pakistan will develop and upgrade the research & demonstration site at Climate Change, Alternate Energy and Water Resources Institute (CAEWRI) NARC through improving and installing high efficient irrigation systems, water storage, water distribution and solar energy based water pumping system. The site will also be used for capacity buildings of professionals, farmers, students service providers & other parties, said a press release issued here on Thursday.

PARC and Nestle Pak will create awareness in conserving water and its efficient utilization among stake holders at national level. PARC will demonstrate the irrigation system to media, government officials, Nestle management, NGO’s farmers and academia from various region of Pakistan.

Khurram Zia, Business Executive Officer, Nestle Pakistan said that through this agreement awareness campaign will be very useful in conserving water and its efficient utilization among its stakeholders. Chairman, PARC also highlighted that this agreement is a joint effort of PARC and Nestle Pak, Lahore and its main objective of the Activity is to increase water productivity, efficiency and quality.—PR
