PESHAWAR: A no-confidence motion moved by opposition parties against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led district government in Charsadda will be taken up today in the district council.

Three opposition parties; Awami National Party (ANP), Qaumi Wattan Party (QWP) and Jamiat Ulema Islam-Fazal (JUI-F) in Charsadda district council had jointly moved the motion of no confidence against PTI district chairman Fahad Azam, and Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) vice chairman Haji Musawar Shah.

The opposition parties claimed that they have support of 50 members out of the total 75 and will easily succeeded in.

The motion was moved against the district government headed by Fahad for failing to serve the people completely, opposition members said.

A section 144 has been imposed in the surrounding areas of the district council and carrying arms has been banned.

A meeting in the assistant commissioner Inayat Ullah with the chair was held in which security measure was discussed. Entry of vehicles was also banned into premises of district assembly. The administration directed district council members to not bring arms into the hall.

Meanwhile, two children lost their lives, while another sustained injuries when boundary wall of a Madrassa collapsed due to heavy rain in Charsadda.

Police said the incident happened in Ali Jan Killi, Tangi tehsil. Four-year-old Samia and her seven-year-old brother Samiullah died in the incident, while six-year-old Jalal sustained injuries. The injured child was taken to hospital for treatment. In a separate incident, a woman was injured in a roof collapse incident in Malagori area of Khyber Agency.
