LAHORE: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi held a meeting with Nawaz Sharif at his Raiwind residence on Tuesday and discussed wide-ranging issues of national importance.

Efforts of the government aimed at carrying forward developmental agenda and completion of development and power projects came under discussion during the meeting, sources said.

Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif and Finance Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar were also present during the meeting. Prime Minister Abbasi briefed them about his recent interactions with parliamentarians and members of the PML-N.

Abbasi apprised Nawaz Sharif that the government was focusing on timely completion of development projects catering to needs of people. “Our policies have projected positive image of the country at international level and restored the confidence of international community, especially foreign investors,” he said.

The sources claimed that issues concerning NAB references against the Sharif family members also came under discussion.

Earlier, on arrival in Lahore, the premier was received by Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and other senior officials. Chief Secretary, IG Police, CCPO, Commissioner Lahore Division, DIG (Ops), DC and other officials were also present on the occasion. Later, the Chief Minister bade farewell to the Prime Minister at the Lahore airport.
