HYDERABAD: The Deputy Commissioner Hyderabad Dr Saleem Rajput set the task for concerned departments to drain out the rainwater within 24 hours from low lying areas and important public places of the district.

The district administration, therefore, has started efforts to accomplish the task as the Additional Deputy Commissioners & Assistant Commissioners reached the pumping station of Water & Sanitation Agency (WASA) to personally monitor the draining out of water in submerged areas of Hyderabad City, Latifabad and Qasimabad.

On the request made by Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner, the HESCO management had restored the electricity in the areas where the WASA pumping stations are located, the spokesman of the district administration informed and added that Mayor Syed Tayyab Hussain and the Municipal Commissioner have also been contacted with the request to complete the rescue operation in the affected areas within 24 hours.

Meanwhile the heavy downpour which received by the citizens of Hyderabad on Monday night had made their lives miserable. Citizens are facing hours long power breakdown by HESCO, whereas WASA has stopped water supply for daily use.
