LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Thursday said “Health Road Show in Britain” was of great success and would help improve the health sector for the benefit of people.

Talking to media at Lahore Airport on his return from London, Shahbaz said the UK-based doctors, surgeons and health professional have assured to extend full cooperation in public healthcare sector which will help strengthen ongoing health care reforms program in Punjab.

Earlier, Rehman Chishti MP from Gillingham and Rainham, who is also the newly-appointed UK’s trade envoy for Pakistan, met with Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif in London.

Matters relating to enhancement of trade and investment in various sectors of economy came under discussion. The trade envoy appreciated the pace at which development projects were being executed in Punjab, and showed keen interest in further deepening the trade relations between the two countries.

Shahbaz also extended Chishti an invitation to visit Pakistan at his earliest convenience, which the latter accepted with thanks and assured of his visit in near future.

It may be added that Shahbaz Sharif during his visit to London inquired after the health of Begum Kulsoom Nawaz and also underwent his own medical checkup. His medical tests were found normal. He also held different meetings.

After his return to the country, Shahbaz chaired a meeting on law and order situation. The meeting discussed arrangements for the third T20 match between World-XI and Pakistan-XI and bye-poll in NA-120 scheduled for September 15 and 17, respectively.
