LAHORE: Chinese Consul General Long Dingbin called on Punjab Chief Minister here on Saturday and discussed matters pertaining to promotion of Pak-China relationship, including projects being executed under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

Speaking on the occasion, Shehbaz Sharif said that CPEC has laid a foundation of lasting development in Pakistan.

He said that the completion of CPEC would change the course of history in the region and added that number of good opportunities had been created for investment and business due to the CPEC projects.

The Chinese Consul General lauded the role of Punjab Chief Minister for speedy implementation of the CPEC projects.

Moreover, talking to a delegation of MNAs from Bahawalpur Division, Shahbaz Sharif said the PML-N government has provided funds worth billions of rupees for development of the people of southern Punjab.

He said Quaid-e-Azam Solar Park has been constructed in Bahawalpur from which four hundred megawatt solar energy is being generated and now a Turkish company is establishing a solar project of three hundred megawatt to provide affordable electricity to consumers. He added that load shedding will end forever by the end of this year.

Shehbaz said that people are reaping the fruits of speedy development and the projects of upgrading and progress have been accelerated with quality and speed despite impediments. During our tenure, the foundation of prosperous and developed Pakistan has been laid, he added.

Shehbaz Sharif said that national interest has always been given precedence by the PML-N and the norms of tolerance, national unity and civility have been promoted, as well.
