RECORDER REPORT

ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) Friday recommended increase in the prices of petroleum products with effect from October 1.

Under the monthly price adjustment policy, the Ministry of Finance on the last day of every month, following the Ogra’s recommendations, announces new POL prices for the upcoming month.

The Ogra summary recommended an increase of Rs 13.33 per litre in the price of kerosene oil and Rs 14.10 per litre increase in the price of light diesel oil (LDO).

If the proposed prices are approved by Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, LDO would be sold at Rs 58.10 per litre and kerosene at Rs 63.33.

Likewise, the new proposed per litre prices of petrol and high speed diesel are Rs 79.60 and Rs 73.86, respectively.

The government last month increased price of petrol by Rs 2 per litre following fluctuation in its prices in the international market, which was effective from September 1, 2017.

However, the prime minister had decided to keep the prices of high speed diesel, kerosene oil and LDO unchanged for September.
