KARACHI: A fresh spell of heat wave is likely to continue in Karachi and other coastal areas for another two more days with a maximum temperature to 41 degrees Celsius, the Met Office on Monday said.

It has said that the continental air is prevailing over the most parts of the country. “A shallow westerly trough persists over upper parts of the country,” Met office said.

In the next 24 hours, mainly hot and dry weather is expected in the most parts of the country with a rain-thunderstorm in Malakand Division and Gilgit-Baltistan. Maximum rain fell in Rawalakot as 5 mm, while Chhor and Shaheed Benazirabad were the hottest places in the country with a 43-degree Celsius of temperature followed by Lasbela, Mithi and Turbat, 42, each and Bahawalnagar 41 over the past 24 hours.
