FAISALABAD: Faisalabad Women Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FWCCI) has decided to hold series of seminars and workshops to harness the entrepreneurs’ skills of its members, said Ms Robeena Amjad President FWCCI.

Addressing the Executive Committee members of FWCCI here on Wednesday, she said that Faisalabad has a large number of female entrepreneurs which could not en-cash their God-gifted capabilities due to the social taboos and retrogressive forces. She said that a comprehensive study will be conducted to identify the female entrepreneurs already working in organized as well as unorganized sector. She said that the female entrepreneurs working in organized sectors will be motivated to expand their businesses in addition to convincing female entrepreneurs belonging to the unorganized sector to play their active role in the business-related activities of this city. “In this connection, the FWCCI will also play a vital role to bridge widening gap between buyers and sellers”, she said and added that the female entrepreneurs working from their homes will also be encouraged to have access to the buyers. Similarly, a news system of E-Commerce and digitalization will also be encouraged so that they could sell their products in international markets through online system.

Ms Robeena Amjad said that FWCCI is passing through a nestling stage but we have to work hard to make it effective, dynamic and productive for the coming generations.

In this connection, each executive member should be a role model for the young female entrepreneurs who could follow them and become successful entrepreneurs in the coming days.

Robeena Amjad further said that apart from the existing entrepreneurs, we have responsibility to identify, motivate, encourage and support young students enrolled in various TEVTA and other technical institutions. She said that our handicrafts sector is badly neglected and we must encourage the young girls who have adopted this field and have potential to excel in it as successful entrepreneurs. The executive committee of chamber has also decided to hold monthly meetings to review the existing performance and set new goals in consultation with the executive members. She said that initially we are setting up 5 standing committees while more committees would also be established for each trade or sector. The participants of the meeting also discussed the participation of female entrepreneurs in CSR related activities and said that this job will be undertaken in scientific and systematic manner.

The meeting was also attended by Ms Hania Javed Senior Vice President, Ms Urva Nabeel Vice President, Secretary General Iqra Qadeer and all other executive members of the FWCCI.
