ISLAMABAD: The Standing Committees on Narcotics Control, Privatization and Postal Services have elected their chairmen.

In this regard, meetings for the elections of chairmen of the Standing Committees on Narcotics Control, Privatization and Postal Services were held on Wednesday here at the Parliament House.

Acting Secretary National Assembly Secretariat, Qamar Sohail Lodhi welcomed the members and briefed them about the procedure for election of chairman/chairperson.

Khawaja Ghulam Rasool Koreja was elected as chairman of the Committee of Narcotics Control; Syed Imran Ahmad Shah Chairman of the Committee of Privatization and Syed Iftikhar-ul-Hassan was elected as chairman of the Committee of Postal Services.

The acting secretary congratulated the newly elected chairmen on behalf of the Speaker and secretary National Assembly Secretariat. He also assured them of full support of the secretariat for effective and efficient functioning of the committees under the supervision of the Speaker.

The meetings were attended by the members concerned of the said standing committees and senior officers from the National Assembly Secretariat.
