RECORDER REPORT

KARACHI: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) left behind two dead bodies at JFK airport, New York, which were supposed to be transported to Lahore via PIA’s last flight from United States.

The last flight of PIA PK-712, which flew from JFK airport, New York to Lahore on October 28, 2017, left dead bodies of Nauman Badar and Nasir Ali at the airport.

Meanwhile, PIA spokesman said that CEO PIA Dr. Musharraf Rasool Cyan had taken a serious notice of the issue and ordered an inquiry.

He said that it was mainly due to negligence on part of foreign ground handling agency at JFK Airport as per initial report received from New York, adding that all ground handling at New York was conducted by the ground handling company.

Moreover, he said that the body of Nauman Badar would be buried in Maryland as per instructions of family members while the body of Nasir Ali would be transported through Etihad Airways to reach Lahore on November 1 2017 (today) as it was PIA’s last flight in current temporary suspension of its operation to New York. PIA will look after the arrangements in this regard and all expenses will be borne by PIA, he maintained.
