LONDON: The finance minister Ishaq Dar has been admitted in Harley Street Hospital London for angiography after complain of chest pain. Ishaq Dar is facing reference of income beyond the means of sources filed by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) as per the direction given by the apex court in Panama case verdict on July 28.

According to sources Dr Christopher Baker will conduct angiography of Ishaq Dar.

A day earlier, The Accountability Court hearing the case pertaining to corruption references filed by National Accountability Bureau against federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar decided to maintain his bailable warrant of arrest and adjourned the hearing till November.

Neither Dar nor his counsel, Khawaja Haris were present in court as Judge Mohammad Bashir chairs the proceedings at the Accountability Court-I inside the Federal Judicial Complex. Dar’s guarantor Ahmad Ali Quddusi was present in the court.

When the court inquired Dar’s whereabouts, his lawyers submitted a medical report and said that their client is undergoing medical treatment in London and he is unable to walk for more than four minutes. The medical report submitted to the court says that Dar has to undergo another medical test tomorrow and angiography in London on November 3rd.

Meanwhile, NAB submitted details of Dar’s bank accounts and assets to the court. NAB prosecutor also told the court that Ishaq Dar owns properties overseas but their documents are not available.

Dar’s medical report as well as an application to grant exemption from appearance were submitted in the court, however NAB prosecutors opposed Dar’s application. The Court reserved the judgment over the application and announced a 30-minute break.

The court announced the judgment maintaining Dar’s bailable warrant.—INP
