LAHORE: Progressive Group, a representative platform of traders and industrialists, has urged the political parties to present their economic agenda to the business community before the forthcoming general elections.

Progressive Group’s President Khalid Usman alleged that successive past governments and present rulers had totally neglected the business and industrial sectors. He said that was why our exports had fallen instead of growing while trade deficit had also increased. He said that political parties besides convincing general voters should also give a clear road map to improve the falling exports and support the deteriorating economy.

Khalid Usman was chairing a meeting of his group here on Monday. Other office bearers including Abdul Wadood Alvi, Ejaz Tanveer, Zeeshan Bukhshi and Arshad Chaudhry were also present on this occasion.

He said that the business community should deeply read the manifesto of all political parties including the ruling party that how they had prioritized to support the business community. He claimed that he had also floated this proposal to the Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI) to invite political leaders to listen how they would bring out the economy out of depression. He said business community should analyze the manifesto of all the parties and then decide whom to vote.
