RECORDER REPORT

LAHORE: Superintendent of Police (Security) Lahore Ammara Athar on Wednesday directed the Special Branch of the Punjab police to complete security audit of all hospitals in the provincial capital with immediate effect.

The SP further directed all focal persons and security in-charges of all the hospitals to remain in contact with the police department so they could thwart any untoward eventuality in future. SP Ammara issued these directions while chairing a security meeting at the Police Lines here on Wednesday in which a large number of representatives of different hospitals participated. “The security arrangements should be foolproof as a large number of people visit various hospitals of the city on daily basis,” the SP said, adding that the motive behind arranging this meeting was to sensitize all stakeholders about the sensitivity of prevailing security situation.

The SP informed the participants that all divisional SPs and their subordinates have been directed to personally visit hospitals of the city, adding that the focal persons and security in-charges of hospitals should finalize security arrangements in line with the devised SOPs. “The representatives of hospitals can get any type of assistance from the Special Branch in finalizing their security.”

The training session was supervised by Superintendent of Police (Headquarters) Lahore Atif Nazeer. He said the cops were trained in practical use of teargas in emergency situation.
