PESHAWAR: KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has said that the merger of Fata into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is demand of all political parties except two who had their own interest to the existing system in Fata.

Addressing different meetings and delegations at Chief Minister House here on Wednesday, he said that it will be injustice if the merger was delayed.

Khattak said that the past rulers pushed the country to the quagmire because they had nothing to do with the problems of the poor.

In view of the growing popularity of PTI, the traditional political forces on the basis of their poor performance in the past were struggling for their survival in the political arena. He was certain that these political forces had becoming history and the present belong to the youth of the PTI.

Khattak while highlighting his government mega projects said the billion-tree tsunami would bring greenery as previously this province suffered mass scale deforestation by the timber mafia.

Swat Motorway which was the first ever motorway being constructed by a province would open up the entire Malakand to tourists and different mega road communication projects would integrate the whole of the province.

He said his government established universities on need driven, spent Rs 24 billion on school improvements and another matching spending on higher secondary education. Sehat Insaf Card was another mega project giving 70% population of the province free medical cover.

The CM compared his governance with others adding that when he took over, there were problems everywhere in the province which his government identified and then resolved them. He talked about his efforts against the unnecessary political intervention in public sector institutions that started delivery in consonance with the people’s aspirations.

Khattak said that it was Imran Khan who gave vision for the facilitation of agenda of change and those who were the real beneficiaries and the poor segment of the society are seeing the change.
