Shahbaz lays foundation stone of IT varsity’s main campus
RECORDER REPORT
LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said on Wednesday that Pakistan could not achieve the goals of development and prosperity which have been attained by other countries due to gap between the poor and the rich.
He was addressing a foundation stone laying ceremony of main campus of Information Technology University at Barki. This university is promoting the vision of Quaid-e-Azam because Pakistan was created by the founding father to give equal rights to all and sundry without any discrimination of caste, color and creed. The poor and the rich should have equal opportunities of development, education and health but unluckily the later continued to prosper while the former became poorer. As a result, the ultra-rich enjoy all the luxuries of life and they have easy access to education, healthcare and other facilities but on the contrary such facilities are unavailable to the disfranchised segments of the society.
He said the IT University is a prestigious institution of higher education developed by Vice Chancellor Dr Umar Saif. The Punjab government has set up the main campus of this university on an area of 183 acres of land.
