ISLAMABAD: State Minister for Information Marriyum Aurangzeb said on Monday the government has fulfilled the promise to end load-shedding across the country, saying that the country is now producing surplus electricity.

While addressing a cake-cutting ceremony in connection with the Quaid’s birth anniversary, here at PTV headquarters, she said that by following the golden principles of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the country can be put on the path of progress and development.

The minister said that the Quaid-e-Azam was a great advocate of democracy. She said that all the federating units should work together to strengthen the democratic institutions in the country.

Marriyum Aurangzeb said that by following the path of Quaid-e-Azam, the government is striving to address the challenges facing the country. She said that the government has added 11,000 megawatts of electricity in the national grid. She said the issue of terrorism has been overcome.

The minister said that the government is working on comprehensive plans for the development of the country and welfare of the common man. She said that Prime Minister’s Education Reforms Programme, Health Cards and other initiatives will improve the standard of education and health in the country.

She said that it was due to the Quaid’s political struggle and leadership that Pakistan came into being. She said that the Quaid’s personality is a beacon of light and the entire nation pays its respects to the leader.

She said that in 2018, for the second time in the country’s history, a peaceful transfer of the democratic system will take place, further strengthening democracy.

Aurangzeb said that in 2013, the reports of Pakistan being bankrupt proved to be wrong and it is due to the efforts of the government that Pakistan is being considered an emerging economy in the world. She added that the former prime minister’s vision against terrorism has almost been fulfilled.
