KARACHI: The 141th birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation-Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah was celebrated across the country amid national zest and fervour on Monday.

The day began with special prayers for the prosperity of the country. The change-of-guards ceremony - main function of the day was held at Quaid-e-Azam’s mausoleum here as the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) Kakul Cadets took charge of the duties. The high security arrangements were put in place in and around the Tomb of Quaid to maintain law and order during the day. The national flag was hoisted at the top of public and private buildings to pay tribute to the Father of the Nation. Various events, including seminars, debates, and exhibitions, were held to mark the day.

As it was a public holiday, government offices, educational Institutions etc remained closed. Hundreds of people, majority youth, thronged to the Quaid-e-Azam’s tomb to offer fateha for the departed soul of Quaid-e-Azam. Governor Sindh Muhammad Zubair, CM Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah along with his cabinet members, Mayor Karachi Waseem Akhtar, various political party leaders, civil society, and religious leaders also visited to the mausoleum of Quaid to offer fateha. “Quaid-e-Azam was a great visionary leader,” said CM while talking to media persons on this occasion. He said that unity, faith and discipline were his core principles of the Father of the Nation. Murad Ali Shah said country was facing crises. We can come out of the crises following these principles with a true spirit. KYF organized a programme titled ‘Jinnah Youth Conference’ here at a local hotel to mark the day. Different university students attended the event and some of them gave speeches highlighting various aspects of the Quaid’s life. Director General (DG) Rangers (Sindh) Major General Muhammad Saeed was the chief guest on this occasion.
