OCCUPIEW SRINAGAR: Terming the meeting of Kulbushan Jadhav with his family as ‘an act of human values’, Democratic Freedom Party has said that India should learn from Pakistan how it treats even an enemy spy.

In a statement, the DFP said that Jadhav has been convicted on the charges of spying but still his family was allowed to meet him in such a dignified way. What about Shabir Ahmad Shah? Where and how he has been incarcerated? How much harassment we the family members have to face every time we go to meet him? New Delhi should ponder over these questions, Freedom Party, Secretary General, Moulana Mohammad Abdullah Tari said in a statement.

Jadhav’s family was allowed to sit and talk for 45 minutes with him. The family of Shah Sahib is not allowed to meet Shah Sahib for more than ten minutes and that too standing under most unhygienic conditions where one would get all wet and dehydrated because of too much of sweating, Moulana Tari said referring to the better half of Shabir Shah.

Not only a partition, but a window with grills and dirty glass, across which you can’t even see properly, stands in between them and Shah Sahib whenever they get a chance to meet him. To meet Shah, his family has to cross so many hurdles. It takes them around 4 to 5 hours to reach to that place and then meet him just for 5 to 10 minutes, he said.

Jadhav is a spy and Shabir a political prisoner declared as “Prisoner of Conscience” by the international rights watch dog, Amnesty International. Shah has spent 31 years of his life in prison only for his political belief but still India is not willing to provide him any medical facility in the jail. Strongly condemning the Indian attitude towards the Kashmiri prisoners, Moulana Tari said that world must take note of how India is treating Kashmiri prisoners.

He said that Indian attitude towards Kashmiri prisoners is horrible and Tihar jail of Delhi is worst than the infamous Guantnamo bay. It is the same jail where Shaheed Mohammad Maqbool Bhat and Shaheed Mohammad Afzal Guro are buried. The family of Shaheed Afzal Guro asks the justice loving world why were not they allowed meeting him before he was hanged. Moulana Tari while referring to dozens of Kashmiri prisoners languishing in different Indian jails said that Abdul Gani Goni, Javed Ahmad Khan, Mehmood Ali, Mehmood Topiwala, Lateef Ahmad and Bilal Kotay etc are waiting for justice to be delivered.—NNI
