RECORDER REPORT

LAHORE: An officer who challenged allegedly out-of-turn promotions at the Lahore High Court (LHC) was directed on Tuesday to appear before an inquiry officer today.

According to a notification, senior court associate/supervisory officer of the LHC Muhammad Akmal Khan was directed to appear Directorate of District Judiciary Director General Muhammad Akmal Khan for regular inquiry at 10:00 am on Wednesday (today).

The notification was issued on December 26 with the direction to the officer to appear before the inquiry officer on December 27 along with relevant record if any.

Akmal Khan had questioned alleged ‘out of turn promotions’ at the LHC and challenged his victimization saying that he had been waiting for his promotion for the last over eight years. His case has been pending for nearly a year. However, the officer was transferred from the LHC principal seat to Bahawalpur bench.
