PESHAWAR: Pakistan Muslim League- N local activists alleged the officials of transport authority for charging additional fees and illegal taxes from transporters, and demanded of the provincial government to take immediate action against the corrupt officials.

Speaking at a press conference, here on Monday, PML-N district vice president, Fazal Rabi accused that the officials of transport authority have broken all record of corruption but no action was taken against them.

He said the motor vehicle examiner (MVE) in Swat region, was appointed on same position for last 10-years, and controlling more than eight districts. He alleged that MVE is charging additional fees and illegal taxes from transporters.

Flanked by the party senior vice president district Peshawar, Fakhar Alam, activist Niaz Mohammad Khan and others, Rabi criticised the incumbent PTI-led government had talked about ‘zero-tolerance’ about corruption in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

But, he said the corruption is at peak in the province. He said the transport department has become hub of corrupt people, which were extorting the transporters from various tactics on daily basis.

He demanded of the Chief Minister Pervez Khattak and Chief Secretary Azam Khan to take immediate action against the corrupt officials and ordered for eradication of corruption in the transport authorities.
