LAHORE: The Punjab Government hosted a Commendation Certificate Ceremony in recognition of outstanding performance of some officials for timely completion of Phase-I of Pakistan Kidney & Liver Institute & Research Centre (PKLI&RC) at the cost of Rs20 billion here on Monday.

Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif gave away commendation certificates to Member P&D Health Dr Shabana Haider, Chief Health P&D Saleem Masih & other relevant officers

Provincial Ministers, Chief Secretary Punjab Capt Zahid Saeed (R), Chairman P&D Muhammad Jahanzeb Khan & other relevant officers attended the ceremony held at the CM’s Model Town residence.

It may be added that the first phase of PKLI&RC, comprising 100 bed hospital was inaugurated on 25th December 2017 as a gift of the Punjab government for the poor patients to celebrate birthday of the father of the nation.

The Punjab government has developed PKLI from its own resources and hepatitis filter clinics are attached to it which is treating patients in different districts.

The construction of the state of the art hospital is divided into three phases, The centre will eventually be the facility with 800 beds (extendable to 1,500 beds), a 100-bed emergency centre, a 100-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU), a 100-bed outpatient dialysis facility, 500-bed in-patient facility, 20 operating rooms and 10 same-day surgery suites etc.
