SIALKOT: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that the government completed the power generation projects of 10,000 Mega Watts (MW) and reduction in rates of electricity and gas was also under consideration.

Addressing the PML-N workers at the residence of Khawaja Asif on Monday afternoon the Prime Minister regretted that several attempts were made in the last four years to spread anarchy in the country, however the government moved on undeterred and only focused on completion of development work. He said that different projects of National Highway amounting Rs 150 billion were underway in Sialkot district.

In his address of welcome Foreign Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif said that PML-N government has focused special attention on the promotion of education across the country. Many steps had already been taken in this regard to facilitate students, he said.

The Foreign Minister revealed that Prime Minister will soon perform stone laying ceremonies of NUST and Bahria universities in Sialkot adding that Punjab Chief Minister will soon transfer 65 acres land for the construction of the universities campuses.

The Prime Minister had already provided funds for the up-gradation of city roads; while funds would soon be provided to Sialkot Municipal Corporation enabling it to improve sanitation system of Sialkot, he disclosed. Asif said that Prime Minister had performed stone laying ceremony of Sialkot-Kharian motorway and this mega project will cost Rs 40 billion while brisk development work on Sialkot-Lahore motorway is in full swing. The Minister further stated that 10,700 MW electricity is now being generated due to effective polices and mechanism of the government.
