LAHORE: Renowned Music Director Ustad Nazar Hussain passed away after protracted illness in Lahore on Sunday. Ustad Nazar Hussain was associated with Radio Pakistan and retired from its Central Production Unit. Music compositions of several well-known songs and gazals are on his credit.

Ustad Nazar Hussain also composed tunes of gazals and geet for PTV. He married much younger singer and actress Arifa Siddiqui than him. He has left behind daughter. All prominent singers of Pakistan including Madam Noor Jehan sang his beautiful composed gazals. His composition of poet Kaleem Usmani's gazal 'raat phailee hay terey surmai aanchal ki Tara' and sung by late Madam Noor Jehan is considered a classic.
