LAHORE: Punjab government spokesman Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan said on Friday that the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has said that no foreign currency commercial bank accounts of the accused were found.

He made these remarks during a press conference at the Civil Secretariat.

“The news presented by Dr Shahid Masood is absolutely fake and fabricated,” said Malik. He added that the anchorperson did not think of the consequences before making such wild allegations. Malik further said the Supreme Court has taken a suo motu action and the case is currently subjudice.

While responding to a question regarding a lawmaker named in relation to the child abuse issue in Kasur, Ali said that those who faced character assassination, have right to appear in the court and get their names cleared.

He also read out contents of a letter from the SBP, saying that the SBP has taken up the matter of searching the bank accounts (local/foreign currency) of accused Imran Ali, son of Arshad, bearing CNIC # 35102-7459834-7 with all banks. However, all the commercial banks have said that they have searched their database and found no account of the accused against the said CNIC.
