LAHORE: Punjab College of Commerce, a subsidiary Campus of University of Central Punjab Lahore organized its 2nd Convocation at local hotel in which degrees were awarded to 300 M.Com and ADP graduates.

Provincial Minister Finance, Ayesha Ghaus Pasha graced the occasion as Chief Guest.

“It is essential to bring change in our priorities in view of the prospects of time for the survival of national economy, and invest in research and development in reverse of dummy planning,” stated by Provincial Minister for Finance, Dr Ayesha Ghaus Pasha while addressing the annual convocation.

She further said that predilection of scientific research should be preferred in universities as well as in other institutes and to generate such minds that may ensure production according to local needs. For this purpose, the private sector will have to do more so that more people may attain the plausibility for the eradication of unemployment from the country. In this connection, the Punjab Group of Colleges is serving the best, she added. The provincial minister said that Punjab is economically a secure, industrial and friendly province where every citizen has the provision of better resources to spend life with his or her own will.

While congratulating all the degree holders, she said that our young generation should materialize the true picture of the real dreams of Jinnah and Iqbal that will highlight Pakistan in the whole world. She advised the students not to accord with dreams if they really want to rise in life. Earlier, Dr Ayesha and Mian Amer Mahmood awarded medals and certificates among the position holders and wished them good luck for their future. Pro-rector University of Central Punjab Dr ZafarUllah, Executive Director, Punjab Group of Colleges, Mr. Sohail Afzal and Director Colleges Agha Tahir Ijaz were also present on the occasion.

At the end of the event, the university staff members and the Punjab Group of Colleges rector expressed gratitude to the minister for her visit and for motivating the students.—PR
