LAHORE: Kashmir day was observed in the provincial metropolis with great zeal and zest. Various religious parities including Jamaat-e-Islami, Difa-e-Pakistan council and Tehreek-e-Labbaik Ya Rasool Allah (TLYRA) organized rallies in the city to show solidarity with the Kashmiris, fighting for their right of self determination.

All the religious parties pledged to support them morally social and diplomatic way. Many small rallies in support of the Kashmir’s were also taken out in various part of the city. The participants of the rallies re-firmed their resolve not to abandon the Kashmiris fighting for their right of self determination for decades.

Thousands of women folk besides men and children joined the rallies which were also addressed by prominent Kashmiri leaders. The participants carried placards inscribed with the slogans “Modi Ka Jo Yar Hay, Ghaddar hay, Ghaddar hay”, “Kashmir banega Pakistan”, and “Al-Jehad, Al-Jehad”.

While addressing a rally Secretary General, Jamaat-e-Islami, Liaqat Baloch, said that as long as the Kashmir issue remained unresolved, peace in the world would be remain a dream. He said that the United Nations would have to give up its anti Islam policies and resolve the issue. He said that India was driving the region into a nuclear war but it would be better if the Indian rulers abandoned their colonial designs and gave peace a chance in the interest of more than two billion people living in the subcontinent.

Hafiz Saeed Ahmad said that peace in the Middle East is impossible without solving the Kashmir issue.

JI Information Secretary Amirul Azeem said that the Kashmir issue was revived by late Qazi Hussain Ahmed through the Kashmir Solidarity Day. He said that the job of the rulers was not to raise slogans and make speeches; instead, they were there to take decisions. He said that the Kashmiris had offered more than one lakh martyrs for freedom but the rulers in Islamabad were shy of talking of the Kashmir. He said if the rulers were afraid of India, they should step aside and let the nation join Jehad for the Kashmir’s liberation.

Islami Tehrik’s Hafiz Raza Kazim lauded the efforts of the JI for keeping the Kashmir issue alive and urged the rulers to adopt bold policies in this regard.

JUP’s Qari Zawar Bahadar said that the nation stood behind the Kashmiris but the rulers were not ready to make a bold policy. He said that if a Salahuddin Ayubi and Muhammad Bin Qasim were born, Kashmir and Palestine would be free.

Chief Jamaat-e-Islami, Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq, has appealed to the government, PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif, and opposition leaders including Kashmir Committee chairman Maulana Fazlur Rehman, to stand united for the Kashmir cause and evolve a permanent policy. He announced that “either Kashmir would be liberated or we would embrace martyrdom for this cause.”
