ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly Standing Committee on Housing and Works has sought details of cases registered against employees of Ministry of Housing and Works by Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

The committee has been informed that various corruption cases against officials of Federal Government Employees Housing Foundation (FGEHF), Pakistan Public Works Department, Estate Office and Pakistan Housing Authority Foundation are under investigation by the NAB, FIA and departmental inquiry boards.

The National Assembly Standing Committee on Housing and Works met here on Thursday at the Parliament House with Mian Abdul Mannan in the chair.

The committee considered the calling attention notice # 9, regarding policy decision of the government for not allotting government accommodations in future to the employees of constitutional bodies, moved by Khalida Mansoor. However, it was informed by the chairman that a bill in this regard has been approved by the National Assembly.

The committee considered the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP), as required under the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the National Assembly and recommended the projects presented by the Ministry of Housing and Works.

The committee also decided that the projects regarding dualization & improvement of Mandra-Chakwal Road (64km), dualization and improvement of Sohawa-Chakwal Road (66.405km), Musa Khail-Tonsa Road (35km) and Strength Road Zhob would be discussed in the upcoming meeting of the committee.

The committee also approved the minutes of the last meeting held on January 31, 2018.
