KARACHI: Single country exhibition to showcase Pakistani products to be held in UAE in September this year.

A delegation of Pakistani residents based in UAE and investors would also visit Pakistan under auspices of Pakistan Overseas Foundation (POF) so that trade and investment between the two countries can be further enhanced.

It was decided during the meeting held in Abu Dhabi between Pakistani Ambassador to UAE Moazzam Ahmed and Vice President Pakistan Federation of Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) Waheed Ahmed in presence of executive council member of Pakistan Overseas Foundation, Dr Farhan.

The ambassador shared that the proposal of single country exhibition of Pakistan in UAE and said that currently this proposal is under consideration by the government of Pakistan and likely to approve soon. “UAE is a big market for Pakistani fruits &vegetable, meat and poultry products including other food stuff and these products can be re-exported via Dubai to other Gulf countries through land routes”, the ambassador further added.

The ban imposed on the poultry products of Pakistan by UAE has also been withdrawn which would provide further opportunities to enhance export from Pakistan, he disclosed.

On this occasion, Waheed Ahmed informed that the export of Pakistani fruits and vegetables was also reviewed as UAE is a big market for Pakistani mango and kinnow.

In collaboration with Pakistani embassy in UAE, an aggressive marketing promotion would be launched to promote Pakistani mango during the forthcoming mango season, he said and added that plan to hold Pakistan’s single country exhibition in Dubai in September this year is being chalked out to make this exhibition a successful event.

He informed that this exhibition would facilitate access of Pakistani products to other Gulf countries. During current season, PFVA would conduct Pakistani mango promotion at hyper markets in Dubai. Sideline of Pakistani Single Country exhibition a conference on investment would also be held so that investment by UAE in Pakistan can be further multiplied, Waheed pointed out.

Dr Farhan of Pakistan Overseas Foundation speaking on occasion said that a delegation comprising Pakistani and UAE investors would also visit Pakistan so that opportunities of trade and investment available in Pakistan can be availed. The delegation of investors would also review opportunities generated as a result of CPEC projects, he added.
